Ensemble Film was founded in 2018 and is led by producers Franziska Sonder and Maurizius Staerkle Drux.

The Hearing celebrates its world premiere in the International Competition at CPH:DOX in 2023 and receives, among other honors, the Swiss Film Award for Best Documentary in 2024. Loving Highsmith opens the 2022 Solothurn Film Festival and is sold to more than 20 countries. The Art of Silence premieres at the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival and screens in competition for the Max Ophüls Prize in 2022. Caves has its world premiere at the 78th Biennale di Venezia in 2021, while The Game begins its international journey at the 77th Biennale di Venezia in 2020, winning international film awards and screening at over 100 international film festivals.
